lady who is held in high regard by her peers. I asked Lucy Ann to provide some
poetry for a group I co run and it was fantastic, so on the mark. I have also
been lucky to see a range of samples of her work, the poems stay in your mind,
and the presentation is perfect. I would highly recommend Lucy Ann.

" I cannot say enough to thank Lucy for writing a poem for my husband as a surprise. The finished work is perfect.
The website is easy to use and when I'd completed a few details online, Lucy contacted me quickly to just finalise the feel and theme the poem should take before she started to write it.
Lucy then emailed me a draft shortly after that for my approval. I didn't need any changes as it was fantastic, she'd took all the points I wanted to say and said them perfectly in a way I never could.
We discussed titles, fonts, frame and box, and soon after Lucy hand delivered my Work of Art poem; printed and mounted in a good quality solid wood frame , wrapped in tissue paper and wonderful presentation box. It exceeded my expectations greatly.
I gave the poem to my husband as a surprise present after a romantic meal. He loved it, the emotion and love that Lucy managed to capture made him feel very emotional and brought a lump to his throat and a tear to my eye seeing him read it! It truly is a fantastic piece that is unique and personal to us. Lucy's talent means that it feels as though I have wrote it from the heart.
It is such a special present that will never be forgot and takes pride of place in our home. I would recommend Lucy's professional, personal service to everyone. Thank you Lucy x "

Network
with Style
There’s a
Networking Group in Shropshire
Where business
women are friends
It goes by the
name of ‘Network with Style’
And there, the
ladies do business and smile
And there, they
even laugh a while
At a place
where the fun never ends
The group is
run by three busy volunteers
All of whom run
their own business
‘Rosie
Consulting’ and ‘Seek it Out’
‘ABC H.R.’ to
sort people out
‘Special
Additions’ party bags to shout about
You’ll applaud
their unwavering commitment
With monthly
dates in Shrewsbury or Telford
Why not book in
to a meet?
There’s the
chance to chat over coffee or tea
Just give it a
try and you will see
That thanks to
Rosie, Kelly, and Leigh
You are in for
a real treat
There are women
attending from all walks of life
With every kind
of business you know
From jewellery,
clothes, scarves and mittens
To holidays or
treatments for dogs and kittens
Or bookkeepers
and accountants if you have bitten
Off more than
you can chew in one go
To network is a
must if you want to succeed
So don’t hide away
at home by yourself
Show ‘Network
with Style’ your creative flare
Because there,
they will not gossip and stare
You see, there,
the ladies really care
And everyone
wants to help
The supportive
nature of this group of women
Goes beyond the
end of a phone
So if you would
like to do business and smile
And maybe even
laugh a while
Then go along
to ‘Network with Style’
And make it
your networking home

Elephant Shoes
When we started dating at just fifteen years old
I couldn’t quite believe my luck, you really broke the mould
Our secret hand-holding days behind our folded arms
Were just one of the many ways in which I fell for your charms
You completely had me hooked with your strong but sensitive character
Your cheeky random sense of humour fills my life with laughter
With your unwavering support you’ve carried me through times of bad
Your magical surprises create the best good times I could have
It’s hardly surprising then, that I agreed to become your wife
I knew that with you by my side I’d live a fun-filled life
When I saw you standing there, as I approached the altar
You were the most handsome man in the world, I simply couldn’t falter
Our honeymoon period has never ended, and though in Florida now we’re not
Our Mickey Mouse ears and character breakfast will never be forgot!
The fun and laughter that we share means I’m no adventure-phobe
I’ve had the most amazing times trotting round the globe
When Alex came along, our family unit was complete
I’ll never forget the love you radiated head to feet
You truly are a magnificent father, a role model for your boy
With footie and rough and tumble, you pack his days with joy
Your occasional ‘no girls allowed’ days mean the world to him
From building dams at Carding Mill Valley to hot chocolate up the Wrekin
You share the same sense of humour and are the very best of friends
Alex is lucky to have you as his Dad, the fun just never ends!
Steve, thank you for being my rock, and for rocking our world
For being the other half of me and making my toes curl
The fact that you’re my husband means that I am lucky too
So I guess what I want to say to you Steve is simply ‘elephant shoes’

The Mount
Her warm soft hand glides over the tense muscular shape
The anticipation makes her hairs stand on end, her heart ache
The pleasure to be had from this magnificent beast
So strong and powerful, yet attentive not least
She feels every twitch, every shudder of skin
Like she is entwined with this beast from within
Her pulse it does quicken, her eagerness shows
The beast it reacts, and it's blood it does flow
She whispers softly as she prepares to mount
In awe of the moment, every second must count
She alters a strap, pulling hard on the leather
And lowers her body as light as a feather
With encouragement by way of a gentle squeeze
Her mount it awakens, eager to please
She gives her command, her mount, it takes heed
Her passion rewarded by her gallant steed

For all that You Are
You are my world and everything that's in it
You are my dreams and all that they entail
You are the spark that ignites the flame within me
You are my hope that love with conquer and prevail
You are my happiness, the reason I am smiling
You are my wonder, at the marvel that you are
You are my inspiration, the reason I excel
You are my soul mate, whether near or far
You are my grass on the other side of that fence
You are my rainbow, the splendour amidst the rain
You are my pot of gold, the treasure for which I've searched
You are my TLC that overcomes all pain
You are my sunrise, my dawn of every day
You are my sunset, the stars in my night sky
You are my hours in between I am now living
You are the one to whom I'll never say goodbye

Trust in Yourself
As I've walked along life's winding road
Many decisions I have made
Some were important, some were small
But each at the time was an escapade
I've made decisions with the help of others
A few I've made all on my own
I've made my mistakes, I'm not denying
But I know with that I'm not alone
To get by in this life you have to learn
From all the times you have done wrong
From every mistake you may have made
And those you'll keep making all life long
Nobody's perfect by any which way
This isn't by far a perfect world
We face a dilemma every day
Some are old, with edges curled
But trust in yourself and you will find
Life's not so hard at the end of it all
Listen to others, but also your mind
And in time your decisions will all become small

My Love is Like
My love is like a firework,
waiting for a flame
To spark the fuse and let it burn,
and renew my life again
My hope is like a little child,
waiting for a sign
To show a world of happiness,
that would in time be mine
My life is like a sparrow's nest,
waiting for the last twig
To fill a hole which for years,
has seemed uncomfortably big
My fear is like an unarmed soul,
waiting for the day
The enemy's trigger is not pulled,
his life not signed away

Fiftieth Poem for Dad
Now that you’ve turned fifty, there is no need to fear
You can still play your guitar, and drink your dirty beer
Your fingers are still working; your drinking arm is dandy
And that extra shelf around your waist in time you’ll find is handy!
You won’t begin to fall asleep whilst Rovers play at home
You’ll stay alert for long enough to watch Formula One
Your hair will keep receding though, I’m afraid that won’t come back
But you should be used to it by now, it’s always been under attack
You’re past the midlife crisis, and you’ve done the motorbike
But it’s not yet time for pipe and slippers, you can still do what you like
You’ll strum your way to retirement age, to stop you’re in no hurry
But when that strumming sounds more like drumming, I’ll let you know don’t worry
But until then just remember Dad, that life is what you make it
And when you don’t feel like that rock star, you can always fake it
You’re fabulous at fifty, a real cool dude it’s true
You make me very proud, and I really do love you

An 18th Ode to Drew
On the 1st of March in '91 a baby boy was born
Your mother named you Andrew and couldn't wait to take you home
But eleven minutes later once they'd checked nothing was wrong
Attention was diverted as your sister came along!
'Double Trouble' your mother thought, where would she find the time?
But she needn't have worried, as you both turned out just fine
You're a happy, balanced, active lad who lives life to the full
With a fan-club of girls you don't even realise you could pull!
A keen interest in sailing gave you a physique that oughta
Put you a cut above at the yacht club, and blow others out the water!
You love your hockey, enjoy paintball, and your middle name is fun
and when you pick up your guitar, you impress everyone
Your cycling race to Aberdovey, all the way from Wolverhampton
Was a big achievement for you, even stepping up competition
You took the mountain route, non-stop and twelve miles longer
You have a 'can do' attitude, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Well your determination paid off well, you beat them all hands down
Even the so-called 'champions' on their easy route through town!
Keep that attitude through life and it will serve you well
Whether you'll be an athlete or an architect only time will tell
One thing is for certain though, whatever you may do
You will be your best at it, and you'll be successful too
So as you've turned eighteen Drew, and you've become a man
Go onwards and upwards, find your path, and enjoy life while you can!
(Written in 2009 as an 18th birthday present for Drew, Sarah's twin brother)
An 18th Ode to Sarah
On the 1st of March in '91 a baby girl was born
Your mother named you Sarah and couldn't wait to take you home
Your big brother came first; he must have been in a rush
Then eleven minutes on, without a rest, again poor mum did push!
'Double Trouble' your mother thought, where would she find the time?
But she needn't have worried, as you both turned out just fine
A beautiful, happy-go-lucky girl, with the whole world at your feet
You bring your smile and sunshine to everyone you meet
You get your fix from Jimmy Hendrix; he's the man for you
The masses of pictures that you own confirm your love is true!
A music lover all the way, guitar rock...no humdrum
Your brother likes to strum a lot; but you just love to drum!
You take a lot after your mother with your artistic flair
You leave your stamp on all you do, successfully to be fair
Your dress sense is remarkable I think I can safely say
But you never fail to pull it off, because it's your style, your way
Though you've always lived in Wombourne, Aberdovey holds the key
You enjoy yourself and let life go when you are by the sea
With an 'I'm okay' attitude, and unique magnetic allure
As true as the tide runs twice a day, you'll be okay I'm sure
One thing is for certain though, whatever you may do
You will be your best at it, and you'll be successful too
Now you've turned eighteen Sarah, you're a woman of the world
Have some fun, grasp life with both hands - just go and live it girl!
(Written in 2009 as an 18th birthday present for Sarah, Drew's twin sister)
Goodnight Nanna, Sleep Tight
There are so many things in this world
that will remind me of you
So many things I'll see or hear
as well as things I'll say or do
I will never be too lonely
or think you're far away
I know you'll always be there
watching over me each day
I never thought you'd leave us
at just sixty-nine years old
I imagined you baking apple pies
until I myself grew old
I'm sorry for the way you went
and for all your pain and suffering
If I could have taken it all away
I would have done it for nothing
But now that you sleep peacefully
I just wanted to let you know
That I will never ever forget you
You'll live in my memories forevermore
I lay you to rest safe in the knowledge
that although you have lost your fight
Nothing can ever bring harm to you now
So goodnight Nanna, sleep tight
(Written in 2003 for my wonderful Nanna who sadly lost her fight against cancer)
